The "Eyewitness Science" series encourages children to observe and question the world around them in an interesting, accessible way. In recognition of this, "Eyewitness Science: Evolution" shared the 1994 Rhone-Poulenc Science Book Prize. This book on medicine looks at the variety of practices around the world from the earliest times, through the major advances of the Greeks, Romans and the Renaissance, to the 20th century, which has seen the pace of discovery quicken enormously. This series supplements all aspects of science within Key Stages 2, 3, & 4 of the National Curriculum.
