It tells the story of a young bear called Oliver at wintertime. He wakes a little early from hibernation and thinking it’s now time to get up, he ventures outside, only to find everything is cold and covered in snow!
He sets off to explore the world outside, singing himself a song that is repeated throughout the book (but with slightly different lyrics depending what the bear is doing) about being a ‘big, brave bear.’
He meets and befriends a bird who joins in with his adventures, but when Oliver ends up getting lost, the bird has to remind Oliver that he is indeed a big, brave bear!
A sweet tale of friendship and being brave. A lovely book to share in the winter.
