Sally Grindley is the author of many best-selling titles including Shhh! which won the Children's Book Award and was shortlisted for the Smarties Prize, and Peter's Place (both Andersen). Sally wrote Kingfisher's bestselling picture book series What Are Friends For? as well as two other popular I Am Reading titles, Captain Papper's Pets and The Giant Postman. She lives in Gloucestershire with her three sons. Erica-Jane Waters is a full-time illustrator who lives in Northamptonshire. The Perfect Monster is her first book for Kingfisher.
